Dear ABO Member,
Being a member of the Algae Biomass Organization provides you and your company with many benefits. One particular benefit I strongly encourage you to consider is participation in a Committee. Our committees are great places to meet other interested algae industry members and provide real support to the ABO and the industry.
I am the Chairperson of the Membership Committee and would like to strongly encourage you to join this Committee. On this Committee, you will help set the future agenda of the ABO by identifying and recruiting new members to join the ABO and those new members will contribute their own thoughts and ideas, making the ABO and the algae industry stronger for us all. We have ambitious goals for the Membership Committee during my term. First, we want to continue to add new Corporate, Gold and Platinum members in a variety of fields, including fuels, chemicals, feed, food, medicine and more. Second, we need to poll our existing and potential members on what benefits they would most want as part of their ABO membership. Finally, we have started to reach out to potential members who have been mentioned in various publications and inviting them to join.
Meeting these goals requires a strong committee filled with energized members who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves. Initially, the committee conference calls will be scheduled for twice a month. Committee members will also be asked to participate in membership outreach and information activities. In return, your stature within the ABO and algae industry will surely rise considerably, as you reach out to new and exciting potential members. I can personally attest to the benefits of participating more fully with the ABO, because as both a current and past Algae Biomass Summit Chair, Committee member and board member, I have significantly expanded my algae related network and my business has benefitted from my efforts. I am sure you can reap the same benefits.
