Contact Your Senators Today
Dear Algae Biomass Organization member,
Last week we asked if you would reach out to your Senators to request their support for the Master Limited Partnership (MLP) Parity Act, which we were hoping would be considered as an amendment to the Tax Extenders Bill (also known as the EXPIRE Act) on the Senate Floor. Last Thursday, the Senate voted NOT to consider the Tax Extenders bill on the Senate Floor because of disagreements among Senators about procedures for considering the bill.
The Tax Extenders bill is very important to ABO members not only because it presents a potential opportunity for consideration of the MLP Party Act but because the Tax Extenders bill includes extension of the $1.01 per gallon tax credit for 2nd generation biofuel (including algae-derived fuel) as well as a special the special allowance for 2nd generation plant property.
We urge each of you to contact your Senators to let them know that you support the Tax Extenders bill and encourage them to work together to resolve the impasse on this important piece of legislation. And please let your Senators know that you support the 2nd generation biofuel tax credit.
Senate contact information can be found here: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm.
If you have questions about about this legislation please contact the ABO’s legislative counsel, Laurie Purpuro, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
